Board of Health

The Leonia Board of Health is located on the second floor of Borough Hall. The Board of Health‘s Office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays 8:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Fridays 8:30 – 12 noon. The Secretary’s hours are 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. If you wish to speak with someone from our office please do not hesitate to call. Our direct lines are (201) 592-5780 ext. 259, for the Nurse, ext. 260, for the Secretary, and ext. 261 for the Health Inspector.

Dog & Cat Licensing

Issued daily. Please fill out the attached application and submit with a copy of the valid* rabies certificate and your payment.  If applying by mail, please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.

*Valid Rabies Certificate - Vaccine must not expire before November 1st of the licensing year.

Please be advised that it is against the law to own, keep or harbor any dog or cat without a valid pet license issued by the Leonia Health Department.

Meetings and Staff

Regular meetings of the Board of Health are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 8pm in the Conference Room at Borough Hall. Meetings are subject to change.
